Thanksgiving at the Farm

We went to the Farm for Thanksgiving & I’ve been dying to post some pictures of our time there.  It was warm when we arrived and blistering when we left.  The Farm belongs to Polly, Judson’s maternal grandmother and is located near Nacogdoches.  It’s 350 acres of magical beauty and though it wasn’t her first trip, it was Darby’s first time to really experience it.  As you drive in this is what you see atop a small hill.

First time riding in a Radio Flyer.

Crisp Vineyards is new!  Check out this little storehouse Judson’s cousin built.  A lot of love has gone into this vineyard already.  I can’t wait to see it in full bloom!

A girl should always know how to operate her tractor.

Can you see her ripping off her hat?  The same with bows, clips, what-have-you.  Well I’ll be honest in saying I’ve never even tried a bow but honestly, would you?

At first she took it all in without much expression but you could just see the delight in her eyes.

Chili & Champ were sure to crack a smile.

A chilly adventure awaits!

I won’t be starring in any Pantene commercials with this do, but I feel like this picture captures a lot 🙂

While we play, Judson works…don’t feel too sorry for him.  He gets to be all manly & stuff & chop wood & break branches…oh yeah, it’s called “clearing the land”.  What do I know?  This is the spot where Crystal wants to build her bungalow.  We can’t wait!!

At night we roasted our faces marshmallows in front of this beauty.

The hat’s gone 🙂

It was a great time surrounded bya loving family & a gorgeous landscape.  Thanks Crisp family for hosting another fantastic time!

What a beautiful account of the farm trip, and I hope another trip is in the near future. I want the Darby-Girl growing up loving the magic of the Crisp farm and ‘think we are off to a good start. She was such a good girl the whole time and I can still feel the tight grip of her tiny hand as she led the way from one discovery to the next. I loved it!
